and finally, I must confess:
In Battlefield 2
Tweaking = Cheating !!!
2F4Y Server allow to manipulate the Con-Files.
An open Gate for small Progs as Macros
and bigger one´s I only can imagine.
In that Case, 1+1 is not an Addition, it is Multiplication!
... and I think 2F4Y lost the overview;
or is there a List of effects caused by Tweaking, that is allowed or not !?
Autoaim is forbidden, thats clear, but it seems also to be the only thing.
Advantages in Speed, by Tweaking
Setting 1000 commands in time of one,
and/ or putting command Chains on only one button,
allows a faster acting, in
- getting vehicles
- spotting enemies
- change weapons/ higher firerate
- more precission
- ...
Advantages in View, by Tweaking
Modding screens gives you a greater Overview, for
- more options for faster descission
- better communication
- see enemies earlier
- easier hiding/ sneaking
- ...
Advantages in Sound, by Tweaking
improves your Sense of
- hearing the enemies come and go
(Steps and Vehicle sounds)
- better localization
- reduce abstraktion
- ...
+ the things, I am not thinking of (add some ...)
Who would not say: This is cheating !?
It is so far away from personal preferences, it is 99% personal Advantage!
Maybe once, it was meant to be so, but the Tweakers developed.
And caused by their own boringness, they invented technical shortcuts,
to make their Play easier, instead of setting Challanges more diffcult.
So they used the past 15 years and were very creative ... but in a wrong way!
Hope, the server admins see the Signs of Time and
will correct that way of participation (also called Raping).
Maybe 90% of the Pilots had to learn Flying in a new way than ... so just ask Ya2
But I still like to know more about advantaging effects by Tweaking.
... so keep on doing the list ... in case of the server keeps beeing an outlaw-area.

- getting vehicles - No. Holding E with defaults already does this.
- spotting enemies - No. Having a macro to allow for faster spotting wouldn't matter, because you can only spot so much in a given period of time before you get blocked from radio.
- change weapons/ higher firerate - While you can have macros to change weapons, I don't see any advantage in doing so - For firerate yes, you can have a macro clicking for you to achieve the maximum fire rate easily. But that's not something that isn't possible without macros.
- more precission - No. Increasing the accuracy of weapons would fall into actual cheating such as no spread/no recoil
- ...

- better localization -No. Localization will not offer any tangible advantage however much as you people would have us believe.
- reduce abstraktion - No. Reductions in obstructions or what not would fall into actual cheating such as wallhack/no fog/no bushes etc

I understand where you're coming from, certain tweaks kind of falls into a weird grey area, some might even offer tangible advantages, but I'm sure the 2F4Y administration has been aware of this for a long time.
I suspect the reason why nothing has been done about these things is because there is currently no good way of enforcing players to use 'defaults'
Currently the only way to make sure nobody would use these tweaks would be to force EVERYONE to record all their games, but that's not really a solution, that's just a mountain of work for someone to review all the footage. Not to mention the extra work required for the players to record and submit their recordings, just to play on a public server.
And may I remind you that this debate has been had on these very forums many times in the past. Do you really think it's worth having again?
When he's talking about seeing "more" on screen he's talking about "widescreenfixer".
Big brain probably thinks it's a tweak. Basically being a poor hobo is a disadvantage and in turn if you are not a hobo like him and his friends you are a cheater, but you are right that they do see a little bit more on the sides because of a software that helps wider computer screens/multiple screens to stabilize games.

It can be used unremarkable, I have no problem with.
But there are many Players, who abuse this to the max,
Some achievements are far from base now.
I was thinking, the server would be able to match the CON-files
when entering the server and set parameters,
allowed to be changed and not.
... but I dont know the technical background.
Past debates, i did not noticed.
Because in past, I was on other servers and it took long,
till I engaged about the "server-kick-problem".
So I am playing on 2F4Y actually since 2018.
but its fine here ...

Widescreenfixer is a program that stabilizes computer screens or a wide pc monitor. Side perk with that program is that you get more "side" view. There are no tweaks to see "more" as you say. Never tried to use it on standard monitor since I have a widescreen, I don't know if it does anything on a standard pc monitor though.
In my PERSONAL opinion you need many hundreds of hours to get used to it because it gives unfamiliar game feeling so I don't bother with it and I'm too lazy to get used to it.
Now I'm exited to know how much of a "advantage" those heavy modification as you call them will give to anyone. .
