Trying to get my BF2 working after discovering that my dx9 don't work anymore. Also I can't watch youtube or streamed content off the web. I can play other games like BF3 and Civilization V.
My guess is dx9 problem or maybe my graphics card/settings.
Tried to reinstall dx9 with no change and looked for some test program for dx9 but not found any.
Help please? |

dont install dx9 but dx11!
goto run, type dxdiag and look which version is installed.

I have dx11 but would like to do other stuff to that seems to be based on dx9.

afaik if you have dx11 installed on w7 or vista there is also dx9.0c preinstalled. |

BF2 don't start. When trying to start youtube stream or any other streamed video the computer freezes and restart is required. Other programs work including BF3 Civilization V and movies downloaded and watched via VLC player work too. Tried to reinstall Dx9 from microsoft site. no change. Tried to reinstall graphics drivers, no change except that Nvidias latest driver sucked more than the older one. |

try to test your DirectX with Unigine Heaven benchmark.
It has DirectX 9, DirectX 10, DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.0 rendering methods. (you can select 1 before start benchmark)
If it works with DX9, you have to look for another root of problem

Nothing special. Run installed program, and select DX9 API in popup window, then click RUN.
If it runs, and works well, your dx9 is ok. |
