Hi there,
I'd like to convert audio tracks of multiple MKV files without touching video stream (so just copy the video stream) from DTS and other "many-channel" sound systems to 2.0 (stereo) with NORMALIZATION.
So I'd like a copy of my (multiple) MKV files with simple stereo sound and quieter explosions/SFX and with louder speach.
I don't know how KMPLAYER does with "factory default" settings, but THAT version of sound (how kmplayer remixing and normalizing to 2.0) should be perfect in final file.
I can play MKV files perfectly from PC, but I'd like to play it on my TV (using TV internal decoder and software) with normalized sound.
I hope you understood my horrible english...
Can somebody suggest a good software for this conversion?
(batch conversion feature preferred)
Thanks in advance. |

That is exactly my problem sometimes koty..but here is what i use:
EZmkvDTStoAC3 you will need to install MKVToolnix package first cause it holds few libraries needed for converting audio...

Honestly I have absolutely no clue about differences between DTS DD5 DOLBY THX AC3 and other many-channel things, since I still have 2 ears (and soundsystem) only.
As I see it is just a simple converter from "DTS" to "AC3". Is it normalizing anything on dialogues? Or why good for me to convert DTS (I don't know what kind of sound system good for and what is it) to AC3 (is it a multichannel audio codec?)?

Easiest way to avoid this problem is to buy yourself a surround sound system. It's definitely worth it.
And maybe buying the actual Blurays instead of pirating stuff online would also be helpful. |

I cannot read anywhere that he is using pirated material.
And buying a surround-sound system might be a financial problem for some.
Alternative solutions on questions are nice, but you just suggested something that koty obiously wanted to prevent.
@koty: I also hate SUPER, since I already had trouble finding the download back in the days when it was an acceptable program. But then it got annoying.
So I switched to XMedia Recode which is very similar to SUPER. In a quick glimpse I've seen that it also provides "normalization". But I am not sure if this works with every codec and I am also not sure if there is a way to make a direct stream copy of the video (so to only process the audio).
