I looked at Alternate and there are lots of posivite comment for both RAM's.
Both have a really high quality, but i dont know which i should buy for my new system.
Whichever has micron d9 IC is best for overclocking. This might be a very important thing if having 1333MHz FSB.
I read that some manufacturers stopped using those for 2*2GB kits.
I am quite sure none of the kits have that IC but considering the low price difference OCZ is better with the lower timings. Although I´m using other memory now I have had great experiences with OCZ. More enthusiasts are using them, so support will be easier to find.
I have RAM from GEIL (but DDR1) - so I just can tell you something about the general things. I'm pretty satisfied with my GEIL RAM - it's not in the list of supported RAMs of my Mainboard but it works great, according to Geil I can give 2,9V to the RAM and so overclock the Timings to 2-2-2-5@2,8V (SPD is 2-4-4-8@2,6V) - but everything with standard clocks of DDR400.
I have no idea about the prices but OCZ should be more capable for overclocking but the GEIL ram was/[is?] much cheaper...
So in general I can give you a go for GEIL if your 1st preference isn't the overclocking...
In the moment i have 2x 1 GB DDR800 Ram from GeIL and i think its really ok.
But to get a higher price for my old pc i want to sell my RAM too.
So i need a new RAM and actually i would prefer the OCZ, cause of the good timing (4-4-4-12) and good comments on alternate but the problem is, they GeIL has the same timing and the price are the same too.. both 199,99 EUR
Gnaaahhh, what a hard decision...
